EADS North America awarded $212 million production contract
- The U.S. Army has awarded EADS North America a $212.7 million contract to deliver 39 UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopters (LUH) as part of its total acquisition plan. Thirty-two of these Lakotas will be produced in the Army’s Security and Support (S&S) Battalion configuration.

Bell Helicopter’s 429 Receives Performance Boost
- Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), announced today it received Transport Canada approval for a 500 lbs. weight increase – to increase the maximum gross weight to 7,500 lbs – for the Bell 429.

Bell Helicopter’s 407GX Earns EASA Certification
- FORT WORTH, TEXAS (November 28, 2011) – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), announced today that its newest version of the popular Bell 407 – the 407GX – has earned European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification following its certification by Transport Canada and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) earlier this year.

Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey to Make Dubai Air Show Debut
- PATUXENT RIVER, Md., Nov. 13, 2011 – The Bell Boeing V-22 Program, a strategic alliance between Bell Helicopter, a Textron Company [NYSE: TXT] and The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] announced that the V-22 Osprey titlrotor will be featured at the Dubai International Air Show in the United Arab Emirates from November 13 – 17.

Bell Helicopter receives Environmental Award
- FORT WORTH, TEXAS (October 5, 2011) – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), was recognized for its recycling program by the North Texas Corporate Recycling Association (NTCRA) at the Green Awards event on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Bell Helicopter was claimed winner of the Stupendous Recycling Service category.

Air Greenland orders two EC225 helicopters
- Air Greenland has placed its first order for Eurocopter’s EC225 medium twin-engine helicopter, acquiring two of these rotary-wing aircraft for duties that are to include all-weather search and rescue (SAR) and all-weather passenger transportation missions.
