Ocean Sky plots European expansion

Business aviation services provider Ocean Sky hopes to add three more European fixed-base operations this year to its current six-strong portfolio, double its charter business within two years and grow its management fleet by 50% by the end of the year in the company’s quest to be in the top three business aviation services providers on the continent.
The company based in the UK has FBOs in Prestwick, Scotland; Manchester; London Luton; and Ibiza, Mahon and Valencia in Spain. The new additions are in Western Europe. Ocean Sky chief executive Steve Grimes, "They will be acquisitions of existing companies,"
Ocean Sky has ambitious plans for growth, which include looking to expand its footprint at Luton and growing its charter brokering business.
Russia remains a key region for expansion with Ocean Sky having a sales office in Moscow. Grimes said other "opportunities" could include establishing a domestic service with a Russian partner.
