Enflight flight planning system now printable
  • Enflight, a flight planning system, has now become available with printable enroute charts WACs, TACs, and street maps for iPad, iPhone, Android, Laptop, Desktop, and Macs.

The system suggests fuel-saving altitudes and gives the pilot latest fuel prices, as well as providing VFR and IFR charts and approach plates while the enroute charts and street maps, help with orientation and make ground references easier to spot. "We wanted to enhance the pilot's ability to quickly identify the roads below," said Phillip Apley, the President and lead developer of Enflight, "and adding landmarks to the preflight plan makes the pilot's load just that much lighter. This way, we can accommodate the VFR pilot who needs better visibility of roads while supporting the IFR pilot's needs for ground

reference points." Enflight flight plans allow pilots to set their own "green, yellow, and red" personal minima which, applied to the weather briefing, allow them to make their decisions at a glance, without compromising safety. Enflight allows you to print, email, or download your briefing and flight plan, plus all your charts (enroute, TACs, WACs, sectionals), with any of your data - TFRs, fuel pricing, radar, AIRMETs,etc. - and rubber-banding of routes is supported.

The system supports iPad as a web app that includes GPS tracking, pinch and zoom gestures, and full-screen chart mode and has both low and high enroute charts and street maps, as well as sectionals, WACs, TACs, flyways, and approach plates. Enflight allows the pilot to view, download, print or email any charted route, or chart area, using any of the chart types provided, as well as briefings, flight logs, or flight plans. Routes can be edited graphically by dragging or inserting waypoints directly on the chart, and optionally snapping to airports or VORs and this works on iPad as well as mouse-and-keyboard browsers.

Enflight's exclusive 'TAF Spiral' is a clock that tells the forecast and current conditions, coded to personal minimums, superimposed directly on the route. These Spirals together with RAIM (GPS availability) data, NEXRAD radar, graphical airmets, TFRs, fuel info, victor airways, and more, can be viewed on a chart.
