15 November- ExecuJet Middle East reports strong sales
  • Strong aircraft sales, additional new managed aircraft joining the fleet based in the UAE, and a significant increase in its Fixed Base Operation (FBO) activity, have been reported by ExcuJet at this year's Dubai Airshow.
 
12 September - Flying Colours delivers first completed Challenger 850 to Middle East
  • Following hard on the heels of its first mainland China delivery of a Bombardier Challenger 850 business jet in the Spring, Ontario-based Flying Colours Corp. has delivered a further two completed Challenger 850s into the Middle East and Russia – in the last three months.
 
May 19 - Regional aviation set for boom
  • The Middle East business aviation market is set to become one of the world's fastest-growing business aviation markets if predictions for growth over the next six years are correct. According to the Middle East Business Aviation Association (Mebaa) the industry is likely to become a $1 billion-per-year industry by 2018.
 
April 17 - Turkish Airlines launches flights to Iraq
  • Turkey's national carrier Turkish Airlines (Türk Hava Yolları) has finalizing preparations to begin flights to Erbil tomorrow. The decision for the Turkish state airline to launch a route to the Kurdish Region of Iraq was disclosed in late March when Turkish Prime Minister Recep Teyyip Erdogan and President of the Region Massoud Barzani jointly opened the new Erbil International Airport.
 
Iran ends Tupolev flights
  • All Iranian airline companies have received orders to end their Tupolev flights by mid February, head of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announced on January 15.

    Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization Reza Nakhjavani in a letter to Iranian airline companies stressed that flight schedules are not allowed for Tupolev-154 passenger planes from February 20.
